  •  30 जून को हूल दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है, जो 1855 के संताल विद्रोह / संथाल हूल की वर्षगांठ को चिह्नित करता है — यह ब्रिटिश शासन के विरुद्ध प्रारंभिक किसान आंदोलनों में से एक था।

  • 1855 का संथाल हूल साम्राज्यवाद के विरुद्ध एक विद्रोह था, जिसका नेतृत्व चार भाइयों — सिद्धो, कान्हो, चाँद और भैरव मुर्मू, तथा बहनों फूलो और झानो ने किया था।

    जैव ऊर्जा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एमएनआरई ने बायोमास दिशा-निर्देशों में संशोधन किया

  • नवीन और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय (MNRE) ने राष्ट्रीय जैव ऊर्जा कार्यक्रम के प्रथम चरण के अंतर्गत बायोमास कार्यक्रम के लिए संशोधित दिशानिर्देश जारी किए हैं, जो वित्तीय वर्ष 2021–22 से 2025–26 की अवधि के लिए लागू होंगे।

  • बायोमास पौधों और जानवरों से प्राप्त जैविक सामग्री को कहा जाता है, जिसमें शामिल हैं: वानिकी अपशिष्ट, कृषि कार्यों से उत्पन्न अवशेष, उद्योगों से संसाधित अपशिष्ट, और नगरपालिका/शहरी ठोस अपशिष्ट।

    India’s External Debt Rises to $736 Billion

    Context

  • India’s external debt rose to $736.3 billion, or 19.1 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP), at the end of March 2025 from $668.8 billion, or 18.5 per cent of GDP, a year ago.

  • The long-term debt at end-March 2025 was placed at $601.9 billion, an increase of $60.6 billion over its level at end-March 2024.
  • The share of short-term debt in total external debt declined to 18.3 per cent at end-March 2025 from 19.1 per cent at end-March 2024.
  • However, the ratio of short-term debt (original maturity) to foreign exchange reserves increased to 20.1 per cent at the end of FY25.
  • The debt structure:Loans (34 per cent) remained the largest component of external debt, followed by currency and deposits (22.8 per cent), trade credit and advances (17.8 per cent), and debt securities (17.7 per cent).
