  • भारत और यूनाइटेड किंगडम ने लगभग तीन वर्षों की वार्ता के बाद एक ऐतिहासिक मुक्त व्यापार समझौता (FTA) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

  • FTA दो या अधिक देशों या व्यापारिक गुटों के बीच ऐसे समझौते होते हैं, जिनमें मुख्य रूप से महत्त्वपूर्ण व्यापार पर सीमा शुल्क और गैर-शुल्क बाधाओं को कम या समाप्त करने पर सहमति होती है। 
  • ये वस्तुओं एवं सेवाओं दोनों को कवर कर सकते हैं। FTA निवेश, पेशेवरों की गतिशीलता और नियामक सहयोग जैसे मुद्दों को भी संबोधित करते हैं। 
  • भारत-UK FTA वार्ताओं को 2022 में औपचारिक रूप से प्रारंभ किया गया था, जिसका उद्देश्य आर्थिक सहयोग को गहरा करना और द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को बढ़ावा देना था।

  • IMD के अनुसार, दक्षिण-पश्चिम मानसून के समय से पहले आगमन की संभावना है। केरल में मानसून का सामान्य आगमन दिनांक 1 जून है और सामान्यतः इस प्रणाली को निकोबार द्वीप से केरल तक पहुँचने में लगभग 10 दिन लगते हैं।
