International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics

India secured the third position by winning five medals at the 15th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA)-2022 held in Kutaisi, Georgia,

About IOAA

It is governed by a set of Statutes, initially derived from those of the International Physics Olympiad, and subsequently modified (through a voting process described in the statues) to better reflect the needs of the competition.
- All participants agree to abide by the terms of the Statutes.
According to the statutes, the governing body of the IOAA organisation is the International Board (IB), sometimes also called the International Board Meeting.
It aims to promote the growing interest in Astronomy and related STEM subjects, especially through the general education of young people
It also aims to enhance the development of international contacts among different countries in promoting Astronomy and Astrophysics in schools.
