महाद्वीपीय मैंटल भूकंप

स्थान: ये विश्वभर में होते हैं, किंतु क्षेत्रीय रूप से समूहित पाए जाते हैं, विशेषकर दक्षिण एशिया में हिमालय के नीचे और एशिया तथा उत्तरी अमेरिका के बीच बेरिंग जलडमरूमध्य के नीचे।

गहराई: अधिकांश भूकंप पृथ्वी की पर्पटी में 10–29 किमी की गहराई पर होते हैं, लेकिन मैंटल भूकंप इससे कहीं गहरे—80 किमी से अधिक गहराई पर, भू-पर्पटी-मैंटल सीमा (मोहोरोविसिक असंततता/ Moho) के नीचे होते हैं।

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya (1916–1968)

Born on September 25, 1916, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a political thinker, economist, and founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS).

He studied in Kanpur and later joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), becoming a full-time pracharak in 1942.

Agriculture Minister has Urged Integrated Farming Models for Small Farmers

Context

The Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister called upon Agri Scientists to develop Integrated farming models for small farmers.

He mentioned models that integrate poultry, fisheries, animal husbandry, horticulture and other agriculture-based cultivation will help small farmers to get better income.

He also asked them to reduce the number of years for the varieties and hybrids developed in labs to reach farmers from four to five years to just two years.

India to Commit Zero Tax on Digital Services in Trade Pact

India has committed to zero tax on digital services and to refrain from imposing customs duties on digital transmissions under the India–US trade pact.

What Are Digital Services and Digital Transmissions?

Digital services include Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms such as Canva and Salesforce, online gaming, e-books, streaming services, automated digital advertising, and cloud-based solutions.

Digital transmissions refer to the cross-border movement of data, including emails, software downloads, cloud services, AI model access, and other electronically delivered content.
