The full form of Computer is generally referred to as Common Operating Machine Purposely Used for Technological and Educational Research. However, the word computer comes from the word 'compute' which means to calculate. The computer does not have an official full form. The idea of a programmable computer is given to Charles Babbage who invented the 'Analytical Engine' in the 1830s. The 1st general purpose electronic computer was 'ENIAC' which was developed in 1945. It used 18,000 vacuum tubes and weighed about 30 tons and required a large hall or room to operate it. Today, smartphones are a million times faster than a traditional computer.

The UPS full form in Computer is Uninterrupted Power Supply or Uninterruptible Power Source. It is an electrical device which is located between the main power and your computer. The UPS constantly monitors the input supply. In the situation of power cut off or power surge, the UPS readily switches to its internal battery or stored energy and provides stable power for a short period of time. This offers the user enough time to save their work on the computer and shutdown the device safely. The UPS is common for Personal computers, servers, routers and other critical devices where an uninterrupted power supply is necessary.
