रोगाणुरोधी प्रतिरोध (AMR) तब होता है जब बैक्टीरिया, वायरस, फफूंद और परजीवी समय के साथ परिवर्तित हो जाते हैं और दवाओं पर प्रतिक्रिया देना बंद कर देते हैं, जिससे संक्रमणों का उपचार करना कठिन हो जाता है और बीमारी फैलने, गंभीर बीमारी व मृत्यु का खतरा बढ़ जाता है। 

प्रत्येक वर्ष लगभग 7 लाख लोगों की एएमआर के कारण मृत्यु हो जाती है।
