  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed compensating customers up to ₹25,000 for losses from small-value fraudulent transactions, including cases where a one-time password (OTP) was shared.
  • This applies once per customer for unintended losses, with compensation covering either ₹25,000 or 85% of the loss, and in some cases, 70% of the loss paid by RBI and the remainder shared with the bank.

    भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) द्वारा रेपो दर को 5.25 प्रतिशत पर स्थिर

  • भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) की मौद्रिक नीति समिति (MPC) ने रेपो दर को 5.25% पर अपरिवर्तित रखने का निर्णय लिया है।

  • MPC ने FY26 के लिए GDP वृद्धि अनुमान को 7.3% से बढ़ाकर 7.4% कर दिया है और खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति को 2% से बढ़ाकर 2.1% किया है।
  • मुद्रास्फीति की प्रवृत्तियाँ संतुलित बनी हुई हैं। CPI मुद्रास्फीति FY27 की प्रथम दो तिमाहियों (Q1–Q2) में 4–4.2% रहने का अनुमान है, जो कीमती धातुओं की कीमतों के कारण थोड़ा बढ़ा है, जबकि खाद्य मूल्य अपस्फीति समग्र मुद्रास्फीति को कम बनाए रखती है।

    • RBI के हस्तक्षेप के मुख्य बिंदु 

  • भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) ने ग्राहकों को छोटे मूल्य की धोखाधड़ीपूर्ण लेन-देन से हुई हानि की भरपाई के लिए ₹25,000 तक का मुआवज़ा देने का प्रस्ताव रखा है, जिसमें वे मामले भी शामिल हैं जहाँ एक बार प्रयोग होने वाला पासवर्ड (OTP) साझा किया गया हो।
  • यह प्रत्येक ग्राहक के लिए केवल एक बार लागू होगा। क्षतिपूर्ति ₹25,000 या नुकसान का 85% तक होगी, और कुछ मामलों में RBI नुकसान का 70% वहन करेगा तथा शेष बैंक द्वारा साझा किया जाएगा।
