UPSC interview boards: what each chair asks

Each UPSC board chairperson's background set against what they actually asked in the interview: their topics, how they question and how they push back.

Browsing as a guest

You see 10 questions a search. Log in for 20, and the questions boards asked on your own DAF.

Each card sets a chairperson's published background beside what that chair actually asked in the transcripts: the topics they return to, how they question, and real questions they put to candidates.

  • The chair asks about 23% of questions. The advisers on the board ask the rest. Their names are never published, so no profile is possible for them.
  • Boards are allotted on the day. Use the cards to widen your preparation. They cannot tell you which board you will face.
  • "3.8x" means the chair asked that kind of question 3.8 times as often as the other chairs did in the same exam year. Small numbers are a hint, not a pattern.
