estimated at approximately <strong>$2.5 billion, <\/strong>with sports equipment accounting for nearly <strong>$0.5 billion<\/strong>, indicating substantial scope for expansion in both domestic market.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Manufacturing activity is concentrated <\/strong>in established clusters such as Jalandhar (Punjab) and Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), supported by a network of exporters, domestic manufacturing units, and thousands of micro enterprises.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The sector is <strong>overwhelmingly MSME-driven,<\/strong> with nearly<strong> 90%<\/strong> of production undertaken by small and micro enterprises.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Products with an international presence: <\/strong>India manufactures cricket bats, protective gear, inflatable balls, and gym and athletic training equipment.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The United Kingdom, United States and Australia<\/strong> together receive over half of India\u2019s sports equipment exports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Significant long-term potential: <\/strong>India\u2019s sports equipment exports could reach approximately US$8.1 billion by 2036, potentially generating around 54 lakh additional direct and indirect jobs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A decade of major events:<\/strong> the Los Angeles Olympics 2028, the Commonwealth Games 2030 in Ahmedabad, the Brisbane Olympics 2032 and India\u2019s planned bid for the 2036 Olympic Games create a decade of demand for sports equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 materials such as carbon fibre, EVA foam, and polyurethane materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>High certification costs<\/strong> required to meet international sporting standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Logistics inefficiencies <\/strong>and higher input costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Limited access <\/strong>to advanced manufacturing Audyogik Vikas Yojna provides for 100 plug-and-play industrial parks.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilities such as ready-built factory sheds, testing laboratories and warehousing provide the infrastructure needed by manufacturers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC): <\/strong>NICDC helps develop industrial cities with land, roads, power, water and transport links for manufacturers.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Its industrial corridor programme covers 20 industrial smart cities across 13 States, with four completed as of September 2026.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research and Innovation: <\/strong>Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) supports research and collaboration between educational institutions, research organisations and industry.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Khelo India and Fit India: <\/strong>Khelo India supports participation, talent
