about an impending threat to <strong>Ramappa temple <\/strong>from the proposed deep opencast coal mining project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ramappa Temple<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple<\/strong> is popularly known as Ramappa Temple.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is located in the <strong>village of Palampet<\/strong>, approximately 200km north-east of Hyderabad, in the State of Telangana.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is dedicated to <strong>Lord Shiva.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It was constructed in <strong>1213 AD during the reign of the Kakatiya Empire by Recharla Rudra,<\/strong> a general of Kakatiya king Ganapati Deva.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The presiding deity here is RamalingeswaraSwamy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is also known as the Ramappa Temple, after the sculptor who executed the work in the temple for 40 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It was inscribed as a <strong>UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Features&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The temple stands on a<strong> 6-foot-high star-shaped platform with walls, pillar<\/strong>s, and ceilings adorned with intricate carvings that attest to the unique skill of the Kakatiyan sculptors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The temple is built of <strong>sandstone with decorated beams and pillars of carved granite and dolerite<\/strong>, with a distinctive and pyramidal Vimana made of lightweight porous bricks, also <strong>known as \u201cfloating bricks\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The sculptures of the Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple, especially its bracket figures, are unique artistic works carved out of the hard dolerite stone,
