Startup<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Company Age: <\/strong>The period of existence and operations should not exceed 10 years from the date of incorporation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Company Type:<\/strong> Incorporated as a Private Limited Company, a Registered Partnership Firm, or a Limited Liability Partnership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Annual Turnover: <\/strong>Should have an annual turnover not exceeding <strong>Rs. 100 crore<\/strong> for any of the financial years since its incorporation.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A deep tech company<\/strong> can consider itself a start-up for as long as <strong>20 years <\/strong>and has a turnover of up to <strong>\u20b9300 crore.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Original Entity:<\/strong> An entity should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Trends in India&#8217;s Startup Ecosystem<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Geographical Diversification: <\/strong>In 2016, Tier-1 cities accounted for nearly <strong>65%<\/strong> of newly established startups, while<strong> Tier-3 <\/strong>towns contributed only<strong> 15%.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>By 2025,<\/strong> the trend had reversed, with Tier-3 towns accounting for about <strong>71%<\/strong> of new startups and Tier-1 cities contributing only 18%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Demographic Trends:<\/strong> A majority of startup founders are <strong>below 40 years of age.<\/strong> Around <strong>66% of male class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Government Support:<\/strong> The Startup India Initiative (2016) provided policy support, tax incentives, regulatory easing, and startup recognition.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Fund of Funds for Startups (\u20b910,000 crore),<\/strong> <strong>Startup India Seed Fund Scheme<\/strong>, and <strong>Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups
