Palaeosciences has reconstructed nearly 4,000 years of climate, vegetation, and river dynamics of Majuli Island.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About Majuli Island<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Majuli is located in the <strong>Brahmaputra River system<\/strong> in Assam and is recognized as the<strong> world&#8217;s largest inhabited river island.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Majuli is a <strong>unique fluvial island<\/strong> formed by the Brahmaputra River and its tributaries, covering about <strong>875 sq. km.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is bounded by the<strong> Subansiri River<\/strong> in the north, <strong>Kherkatia Suti <\/strong>in the northeast, and the <strong>Brahmaputra River<\/strong> in the south.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its landscape consists of alluvial plains, braided channels, <strong>wetlands (Beels)<\/strong>, and riverine sandbars known as <strong>Chaporis.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The island is an important centre of <strong>Neo-Vaishnavite culture<\/strong> established by Srimanta Sankardeva.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It hosts around <strong>30 Sattras (Vaishnavite monasteries),<\/strong> which serve as centres of religion, culture, education, and community governance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Major Sattras include <strong>Auniati Satra, Kamalabari Satra, Garamur Satra, and Dakhinpat Satra.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is home to several indigenous tribal communities, including the <strong>Mising, Deori, and Sonowal Kachari tribes.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The island faces recurrent <strong>floods, riverbank erosion, deforestation, and land United Kingdom, and the United States has completed five years and recently expanded cooperation in maritime defence and advanced technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About AUKUS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AUKUS was <strong>launched in September 2021<\/strong> as a trilateral strategic security partnership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It was launched amid growing geopolitical competition and security concerns in the Indo-Pacific region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its objective is to strengthen defence capabilities, technological cooperation, and strategic stability in the Indo-Pacific region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Two Pillars of AUKUS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pillar I:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Focuses on helping Australia acquire conventionally armed nuclear-powered submarines (SSNs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The US will supply three Virginia-class submarines to Australia, with an option for two more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will make Australia the seventh country to operate nuclear-powered submarines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pillar II:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Focuses on cooperation in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cyber capabilities, undersea technologies, and advanced weapon systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The alliance is also developing advanced uncrewed undersea vehicles (UUVs) and Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS3\/ Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Government of India has received over 2.62 lakh loan applications worth \u20b91.71 lakh crore under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ECLGS 5.0<\/strong> is the latest version of the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme, <strong>originally introduced<\/strong> during the <strong>COVID-19 pandemic<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scheme aims to provide <strong>additional working capital support <\/strong>to businesses facing temporary financial stress.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The scheme launched in <strong>2026<\/strong> addresses financial stress faced by MSMEs and the aviation sector due to disruptions arising from the ongoing West Asia conflict.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It allows eligible borrowers to obtain additional loans of up to <strong>20%<\/strong> of their existing working capital limits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scheme has a total credit support envelope of <strong>\u20b92,55,000 crore (including Rs.5,000 crore for airlines).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Credit Guarantee Structure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Guarantee coverage:<\/strong> For MSMEs, the government provides a <strong>100% guarantee<\/strong> on the additional credit extended by banks. For non-MSME borrowers as well as the airline sector, the guarantee coverage is <strong>90%.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guarantees are provided through the <strong>National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tenure of Loan:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For MSMEs\/Non MSMEs (except Airline sector): 5 years <\/strong>from the date of first disbursement including a moratorium of 1 year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For the airline sector: 7 years <\/strong>from the date of first disbursement (MT) worth USD 8.46 billion,<\/strong> despite challenging global market conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Frozen shrimp<\/strong> continued to dominate India\u2019s seafood exports, accounting for <strong>nearly two-thirds of total export earnings.&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The United States<\/strong> remained the largest importer of Indian frozen shrimp, followed by China.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other major destinations <\/strong>included the European Union, Southeast Asia, Japan, the Middle East, and several other countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Frozen fish emerged as the second-largest export category,<\/strong> while dried seafood products ranked third.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dried seafood exports <\/strong>witnessed particularly strong growth, registering a 78.05% increase in rupee value terms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Top export destinations include<\/strong> the United States, followed by China and the European Union (EU).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Visakhapatnam,
