Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Padma Awards are among India\u2019s highest civilian honours instituted in 1954.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They<strong> <\/strong>are presented in <strong>three categories<\/strong>: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00a0\u2018Padma Vibhushan\u2019 is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018Padma Bhushan\u2019 for distinguished service of high order and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0\u2018Padma Shri\u2019 for distinguished service in any regardless of race, occupation, position or gender.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>However, government servants, including employees of public sector undertakings, are generally not eligible,
