scheme.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Mission Shakti<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">About:<\/span><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It is an <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>integrated women empowerment programme<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> as an umbrella<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong> scheme for the safety, security and empowerment of women<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> for implementation during the 15th\u00a0 Finance Commission period <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>202l-22 to 2025-26.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The norms of \u2018Mission Shakti\u2019 will be applicable <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>with effect from 01.04.2022.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Aim &amp; Objectives:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Strengthening interventions<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> for women&#8217;s safety, security and empowerment.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Realise the Government\u2019s commitment to <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>\u201cwomen-led development?<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> by addressing issues affecting women on a life-cycle continuum basis and by making them <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>equal partners in nation-building <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">through convergence and citizen-ownership.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Make women<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong> economically empowered, <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">exercising free choice over their minds and bodies in <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>an atmosphere free from violence<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> and threat.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Reduce the care burden on women and<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong> increase female labour force participation<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> by promoting skill development, capacity building, financial literacy, access to microcredit etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Making<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong> people aware<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> about Government schemes and programmes as well as legal provisions<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong> to fight social evils <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">like dowry, domestic violence, Sexual Harassment at Workplace and to promote gender equality etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Create <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>awareness <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">among masses for inducing<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong> positive behavioural change<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> towards women and girls.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">To <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>prevent gender-biased sex selective elimination<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">; to ensure survival, protection, education and development of the girl child.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Components:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Sambal:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: square;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Sambal<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> is for the safety and security of women.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: square;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The components of &#8216;Sambal&#8217; sub-scheme consist of erstwhile schemes of One Stop Centre (OSC), Women Helpline (WHL), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) with a new component of Nari Adalats &#8211; women&#8217;s collectives to promote and facilitate alternative dispute resolution and gender justice in society and within families.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: 421.0; sub-scheme consist of erstwhile schemes of Ujjwala, Swadhar Greh and Working Women Hostel have been included with modifications.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In addition, the existing schemes of National Creche Scheme for children of working mothers and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) under umbrella ICDS have now been included in Samarthya.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A new component of <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Gap Funding for Economic Empowerment<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> has also been added in the Samarthya Scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: 421.8513927849175; The services include:<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Emergency\/ Immediate services &amp; short-term care:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> Putting in place mechanisms for providing a <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>continuum of support and care for women affected by violence <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">and women in distress through dedicated 24 hours helpline by a national toll-free number and integrated services such as temporary shelter, legal aid, psycho-social counselling, medical assistance, police facilitation and link them with existing services etc. through One Stop Centres.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Institutional Care for long term support:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> The long-term institutional care component, inter alia, includes taking care of the needs of women right from the conception stage till the time they need such care and support because of their physical, financial and sociological status due to various factors.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The support system, inter-alia, includes financial support through <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>direct benefit transfer (DBT)<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> route, shelter, food, rescue &amp; rehabilitation services, counselling, functional literacy, vocational training for skill development, entrepreneurship and linkages with various other support and referral services to destitute, distressed, marginalised, victims of violence, and working women or those who do not have anyone to take care through <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Shakti Sadan<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">, a home for destitute, distressed, marginalised, victims of trafficking 9 etc. to provide care and support and all the daily needs and services.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>SakhiNiwas or Working Women Hostel<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> will provide a safe and secure place for the working women away from their native place\/ homes with all functional facilities like accommodation, food, day-care facility for their children, wherever possible, in urban, semi-urban, or even rural areas where employment opportunities for women exist on nominal cost basis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>The Palna or National Creche<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> component will provide a safe and secure place for the children of working mothers in the age group of 6 months to 6 years for 71\/2 hours a day.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Financial support for pregnant and lactating mothers<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> is to improve the health and nutrition for mother and child as well as for partial compensation of wage loss, if any.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Behaviour Change Communication for dignity and prevention of crime and violence against women:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">This would include large-scale <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>awareness programs<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> and community engagement for gender sensitisation, advocacy, training and capacity building of all duty bearers, service providers and stakeholders through inter-ministerial convergence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In addition, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>engaging with men and boys would be done to partner for countering VAW and Gender stereotypes<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> that will include Inter-sectoral consultation, Media Campaign, Training &amp; Capacity building\/ sensitization programme, Innovation, Outreach and advocacy, IEC material\/awareness kit etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><strong>Source<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">: <\/span><a style=\"text-decoration-line: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleaseIframePage.aspx?PRID=1841498\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc;\">PIB<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In News Recently, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has issued detailed guidelines for the \u2018Mission Shakti&#8217; scheme.
