Announces 7 Additional Measures under Export Promotion Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS3\/Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Ministry of Commerce introduced<strong> seven additional interventions under the Export Promotion Mission.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>These are meant to<strong> strengthen micro, medium and small enterprises (MSMEs) to compete in global markets.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Export Promotion Mission<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In the Union Budget for 2025-26,<\/strong> the Finance Minister announced an Export Promotion Mission.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It would facilitate easy access to export credit, cross-border factoring support, and support to MSMEs to tackle non-tariff measures in overseas markets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ministries: <\/strong>Driven jointly by the Ministries of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and the Ministry of Finance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Under EPM<\/strong>, <strong>priority support<\/strong> will be extended to sectors impacted by recent global tariff escalations, such as textiles, leather, gems &amp; jewellery, engineering goods, and marine products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)<\/strong> will act as the implementing agency, with all processes\u00a0 from application to disbursal.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It will be managed through a dedicated digital platform integrated with existing trade systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Major Components of EPM<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Financial Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE): <\/strong>Provides 100% coverage by the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd (NCGTC).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For additional credit facilities up to \u20b920,000 crore to eligible exporters (including MSMEs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enables collateral-free credit, improving liquidity and competitiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Integration of Schemes: <\/strong>Interest Equalisation Scheme (interest subvention for exporters).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Market Access Initiative (MAI) (support for trade fairs, market promotion).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both merged under a digitally driven EPM framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Non-Financial Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Addressing Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs): <\/strong>Funding for compliance, certifications, and technical standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Market Acquisition &amp;
