{"id":61064,"date":"2025-12-08T18:47:30","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T13:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/?p=61064"},"modified":"2025-12-13T10:56:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T05:26:33","slug":"export-promotion-mission-epm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/08-12-2025\/export-promotion-mission-epm","title":{"rendered":"Export Promotion Mission (EPM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS3\/Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Government has approved the <strong>Export Promotion Mission (EPM)<\/strong> with \u20b925,060 crore to boost exports, especially for MSMEs and labour-intensive sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Export Promotion Mission<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/03-02-2025\/union-budget-2025-26\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/03-02-2025\/union-budget-2025-26\">Union Budget for 2025-26<\/a>,<\/strong> the Finance Minister announced an Export Promotion Mission.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It would facilitate easy access to export credit, cross-border factoring support, and support to MSMEs to tackle non-tariff measures in overseas markets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time Span:<\/strong> EPM will span<strong> six years <\/strong>covering FY 2025-26 to FY 2030-31.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ministries and Institutions: <\/strong>The Department of Commerce, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Finance, Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Boards, financial institutions, industry associations and state governments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Implementing Agency: The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT),<\/strong> as the implementing agency via a dedicated digital platform integrated with existing trade systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two Integrated Sub-Schemes:<\/strong> Niryat Protsahan &amp; Niryat Disha.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Under EPM<\/strong>, <strong>priority support<\/strong> will be extended to sectors impacted by recent global tariff escalations, such as textiles, leather, gems &amp; jewellery, engineering goods, and marine products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Major Components of EPM<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Financial Support (Niryat Protsahan)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE): <\/strong>Provides 100% coverage by the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd (NCGTC).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Additional credit facilities up to \u20b920,000 crore to eligible exporters (including MSMEs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enables collateral-free credit, improving liquidity and competitiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Non-Financial Support (Niryat Disha)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Addressing Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs): <\/strong>Funding for compliance, certifications, and technical standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Market Acquisition &amp;
