The <strong>Indian Federation <\/strong>continues to exemplify the balance between <strong>national unity and regional diversity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Origins of the Indian Federation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Constituent Assembly<\/strong>, while framing the Constitution before the reorganisation of states, grappled with the challenge of ensuring <strong>unity amidst diversity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On <strong>January 26, 1950<\/strong>, India emerged as a <strong>quasi-federal parliamentary republic<\/strong>, harmonizing a <strong>single constitution, single citizenship, an integrated judiciary, and All India Services<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These pillars became the instruments of what is now celebrated as India\u2019s enduring philosophy \u2014 <strong>\u2018Unity in Diversity\u2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rationale Behind the Federal\/Quasi-Federal Model<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During the <strong>Constituent Assembly Debates<\/strong>, <strong>Dr BR Ambedkar<\/strong> and other framers offered insightful perspectives on the nature of Indian federalism.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ambedkar on \u2018Union of States\u2019 (November 4, 1948): <\/strong>He clarified that India\u2019s federation was not born out of an agreement among sovereign states but as an <strong>\u2018indestructible union of destructible states\u2019.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No state possesses the right to secede, underscoring the permanence of the Union.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ambedkar on Quasi-Federalism:<\/strong> He emphasized that the <strong>Draft Constitution struck a balance<\/strong> \u2014 neither too weak to threaten national unity nor too strong to crush state autonomy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>B.G.
