speculation that it might have flown across the international border from India\u2019s Desert National Park (DNP).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:13pt\"><span style=\"font-family:\"Book Antiqua\",serif\"><strong>About Great Indian Bustards\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>Science Name <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">: Ardeotis nigriceps\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">It is one of the rarest birds in the world and is the State bird of Rajasthan<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Its population of about 150 in Rajasthan accounts for<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong> 95% of its total world population.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Habitat : <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">It inhabits<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"> arid and semi-arid grasslands<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"> with scattered short scrub, bushes and low intensity cultivation in flat or gently undulating terrain.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:circle\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Birds congregate in traditional less disturbed grassland patches to breed during mid-summer and monsoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Conservation Efforts : <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">It is listed as <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Critically Endangered<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"> because it has an extremely small population that has undergone an extremely rapid decline owing to a multitude of threats including habitat loss and degradation, hunting and direct disturbance.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:circle\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">It is listed in Schedule-I of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, thereby, according to its highest degree of legal protection from hunting.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:\"Book
