style=\"color:#000000\">The films, with their nationalist themes and dialogues, focus on Chinese fighters who frequently face off against Western Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">engaging in open ideological competition with the West, and\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:circle\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">Since 2010, when China\u2019s GDP overtook Japan\u2019s as the world\u2019s second largest, the Chinese have become more confident and China\u2019s foreign policy has become more assertive.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">The change in strategy has been attributed to many reasons, such as Xi\u2019s more authoritarian tendencies as compared to earlier leaders, deteriorating US-China relations under former US President Donald Trump, the coronavirus pandemic-related accusations on China, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">Many Chinese believe the Western media portrayal of China is highly biased, often with ideological and racist biases.
