challenged British conversion activities of tribals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He preached strong Anti-British sentiment through religion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Also, referred to as&nbsp; <strong>\u2018Dharti Abba or Father of Earth\u2019 <\/strong>by his followers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outcomes of the Munda Rebellion:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 1895, Birsa Munda was arrested for rioting and imprisoned for 2 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 1900, Birsa Munda was arrested again and died of cholera in captivity, at the age of just 25.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Munda Rebellion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A tribal movement<\/strong> led by<strong> Munda <\/strong>against the British<strong> Raj.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Also referred to as &#8216;<strong>Ulgulan&#8217; or the &#8216;Great Tumult,&#8217; <\/strong>to establish<strong> Munda raj.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rebellion aimed at <strong>challenging the colonial land revenue system, Zamindari system, and forced labor imposed<\/strong> on the tribals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The movement&#8217;s primary grievances were the <strong>introduction of the Zamindari system<\/strong>, which displaced tribals from their land, and the exploitation by outsiders or Dikus who took control of tribal lands and resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Birsa Munda and his followers used <strong>guerrilla warfare tactics <\/strong>to target symbols of British power, such as police stations, government buildings, and landlords&#8217; establishments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outcomes of the Rebellion:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The British government introduced <strong>the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act in 1908,<\/strong> to prohibit the transfer of tribal land to non-tribals (Dikus).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lenient attitude of Britishers <\/strong>towards tribals &amp; maintaining their faith &amp; beliefs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ebecf0\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Key Initiatives For Tribals<\/strong><br>&#8211; <strong>Janjatiya Gaurav Divas:<\/strong> Celebrated on 15th November on the birth anniversary of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/16-11-2022\/birth-anniversary-of-birsa-munda\">Bhagwan Birsa Munda.<\/a> This day serves to recognize and honor the contributions of tribal communities in India, particularly their role in the country&#8217;s freedom struggle.<br>&#8211;
