widely followed in Tamil Shaiva temples.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vaishnava Agamas (Pancharatra and Vaikhanasa): <\/strong>These deal with the worship of<strong> Lord Vishnu<\/strong> and are prevalent in many major South Indian Vaishnava temples like Tirupati.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shakta Agamas (Tantras):<\/strong> Worship of Goddess Shakti.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/tamil-nadu\/supreme-court-requests-panel-to-identify-agamic-temples-in-tamil-nadu\/article69574604.ece\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>TH<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Financial Action Task Force (FATF)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS2\/International Bodies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India will submit a dossier to the <strong>Financial Action Task Force (FATF) <\/strong>which will make a case for <strong>putting Pakistan back in the \u201cgrey list\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India will specifically point to the n<strong>on-compliance of certain provisions<\/strong> that Pakistan had promised to adhere to when it was taken off the FATF grey list in <strong>2022.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pakistan had been in the grey list for four years, between 2018 and 2022.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Financial Action Task Force (FATF)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The FATF is the <strong>global money-laundering and terror financing watchdog<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is an<strong> inter-governmental organisation with 40 members,<\/strong> India became a <strong>member in 2010.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The body researches <strong>how money is laundered<\/strong> and terrorism is funded, <strong>promotes global standards<\/strong> to mitigate the risks, and assesses whether countries are taking <strong>effective action.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What FATF\u2019s grey\/black lists entail?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The FATF <strong>identifies jurisdictions with weak measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing<\/strong> (AML\/CFT regimes) in two public documents that are issued <strong>three times a year \u2014 in February, June and October.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The grey list,<\/strong> officially <strong>\u201cJurisdictions under Increased Monitoring\u201d,<\/strong> comprises countries that have <strong>significant deficiencies in their AML\/CFT regimes <\/strong>but are <strong>actively working<\/strong> with the FATF to address these <strong>within agreed timeframes.\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Countries in the grey list are <strong>subject to increased monitoring<\/strong> by the FATF. Currently, there are <strong>25 countries in this list (as of feb 2025).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It carries <strong>adverse economic and reputational impacts<\/strong>, which affect the <strong>inflow of foreign investment and international aid.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pakistan being on the grey list from 2018 to 2022 had<strong> helped curtail illicit fund flows into India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The black list<\/strong>, officially <strong>\u201cHigh-Risk Jurisdictions subject to a Call for Action\u201d, <\/strong>comprises countries with <strong>\u201cserious strategic deficiencies<\/strong>\u201d in their AML\/CFT regimes.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The FATF urges all other jurisdictions to<strong> apply enhanced due diligence while dealing with such countries<\/strong> and also apply <strong>counter-measures to protect the international financial system<\/strong> from the risks emanating from the
