Everst).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He emphasized the <strong>shared cultural and ecological bonds <\/strong>between India and its Himalayan neighbours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>South Asia houses<strong> 25% of the global population<\/strong>, contributing <strong>only 4% to historical CO\u2082 emissions.<\/strong> Yet, developing countries like India bear disproportionate impacts of climate change.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>And, developed countries are falling short on climate finance, technology transfer, and capacity building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He called for transboundary cooperation under the<strong> International Big Cats Alliance for species<\/strong> like snow leopards, tigers, and leopards &amp; also reiterated India\u2019s progress under <strong>Project Snow Leopard.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Five-Point Global Action Plan Proposed by India<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enhanced Scientific Cooperation: <\/strong>Strengthening research collaboration, and monitoring cryospheric changes, hydrological cycles, and biodiversity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Building Climate Resilience:<\/strong> Investing in climate adaptation measures, early warning systems for disasters like Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs), and climate-resilient infrastructure in mountain areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Empowerering Mountain Communities:<\/strong> Ensuring that the welfare, needs and aspirations of local communities are at the heart of policy-making and their benefit from green livelihoods and sustainable tourism.
