2025<\/strong> to <strong>8th March 2025 (International Women\u2019s Day)<\/strong>, include the launch of the <strong>Mission Vatsalya Portal<\/strong> (for child welfare) and the <strong>Mission Shakti Portal<\/strong> (for women&#8217;s empowerment and safety).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Genesis: <\/strong>Launched on <strong>22nd January 2015<\/strong> in <strong>Haryana<\/strong>, in response to the <strong>dismal CSR<\/strong> of <strong>918 girls per 1,000 boys<\/strong> (2011 Census) caused by societal norms favoring male children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objectives: <\/strong>Improve the <strong>Child Sex Ratio (CSR)<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote <strong>gender equality<\/strong> and <strong>women empowerment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prevent <strong>gender-biased, sex-selective elimination<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure <strong>survival and protection<\/strong> of the girl child.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage the <strong>education and participation<\/strong> of girls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Implementation: <\/strong>Executed by states with <strong>100% Central Assistance<\/strong>.\n<ul as Part of BBBP: <\/strong>Aimed at securing the financial future of girl children by encouraging families to invest in their education and welfare through <strong>tax-saving, high-return savings accounts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eligibility: <\/strong>Families with a <strong>girl child below 10 years<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA)<\/strong> must be opened in the girl&#8217;s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only <strong>resident Indians<\/strong> are eligible; <strong>Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)<\/strong> are excluded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Achievements Over the Decade<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Improved Child Sex Ratio (CSR): Awareness campaigns<\/strong> and the enforcement of the <strong>Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994<\/strong> helped increase CSR.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CSR at birth rose from <strong>918 (2014-15)<\/strong> to <strong>933 (2022-23)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Increased Female Enrollment in Schools: <\/strong>Free and subsidized education, improved infrastructure (e.g., toilets under the <strong>Swachh Bharat Mission<\/strong>), and scholarships like SSY reduced dropout rates.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Programs like <strong>Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas<\/strong> significantly boosted enrollment in <strong>primary and secondary
