It is the world\u2019s second-longest non-polar glacier after the <strong>Fedchenko Glacier in Tajikistan.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is located in the <strong>Karakoram Range<\/strong>, between the <strong>Saltoro Ridge to the west and the main Karakoram Range to the east.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The glacier originates near I<strong>ndira Col West<\/strong>, marking the boundary between Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The glacier feeds the <strong>Nubra River, which is a tributary of the Shyok River<\/strong>. The Shyok River is part of the larger Indus River system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>India took control of the glacier under <strong>Operation Meghdoot (1984),<\/strong> preempting Pakistan&#8217;s plans to class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Blood money\u2019<\/strong>, or <strong>\u2018diyya\u2019<\/strong>, finds footing in the <strong>Islamic Sharia law<\/strong>, and is followed in countries that incorporate these laws.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Provision:<\/strong> A select quantity of a valuable asset, primarily monetary, has to be paid by the perpetrator of the crime to the victim, or the victim\u2019s family if the latter has died.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is practised in cases involving <strong>unintentional murder and culpable homicide.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is done to<strong> avoid harsh punishments<\/strong> like death sentences and to provide monetary compensation to the victim\u2019s family in exchange for mercy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This system leaves the offender\u2019s fate in the hands of the family of the victim.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>India: <\/strong>Concept of Blood money is not found in India\u2019s formal legal
