Turmeric is also known as <strong>\u2018Golden Spice\u2019.<\/strong><br>&#8211; <strong>Geographical Condition: <\/strong>Turmeric thrives in temperatures ranging between <strong>20\u00b0C and 30\u00b0C <\/strong>with high annual rainfall.<br>&#8211; Turmeric farmers are spread across 20 states, including <strong>Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Meghalaya.<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Turmeric Production in India<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India is the <strong>largest producer, consumer and exporter<\/strong> of turmeric in the world.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It cultivates <strong>30 varieties<\/strong> of turmeric across various regions and accounts for over<strong> 70% of global turmeric production<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>India <\/strong>has a cultivation area of <strong>3.05 lakh hectares <\/strong>and a production of <strong>10.74 lakh tonnes<\/strong> during <strong>2023-24.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>India has more than <strong>62%<\/strong> share of world trade.
