{"id":33719,"date":"2024-12-14T19:12:05","date_gmt":"2024-12-14T13:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/?p=33719"},"modified":"2024-12-14T19:12:07","modified_gmt":"2024-12-14T13:42:07","slug":"15th-india-uae-joint-commission-meeting-jcm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/14-12-2024\/15th-india-uae-joint-commission-meeting-jcm","title":{"rendered":"15th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting (JCM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS2\/ International Relations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan co-chaired the 15th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting (JCM).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The MoU between the <strong>Emirates Polar Mission Steering Committee, UAE and the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), India<\/strong> was signed.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This agreement paves the way for cooperation in polar operations, research and capacity building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Following the inauguration of the<strong> IIT-Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi<\/strong>, both sides reviewed progress on establishing overseas campuses of IIM-Ahmedabad and\u00a0 Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in Dubai.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both sides also discussed new technological platforms such as the <strong>Virtual Trade Corridor (VTC) and the Maitri Interface,<\/strong> designed to enhance trade efficiency by enabling paperless transactions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UAE and India relations\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Political: <\/strong>India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) established diplomatic relations in 1972.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Multilateral Cooperation:<\/strong> India and the UAE are currently part of several plurilateral platforms such as <strong>I2U2 (India-Israel-UAE-USA) and UFI (UAE-France-India) Trilateral<\/strong>, etc.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UAE was also invited as a Guest Country to the G-20 Summit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Economic &amp;
