{"id":33599,"date":"2024-12-12T18:44:52","date_gmt":"2024-12-12T13:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/?p=33599"},"modified":"2024-12-12T18:44:53","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T13:14:53","slug":"bharat-6g-vision-document","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/12-12-2024\/bharat-6g-vision-document","title":{"rendered":"Bharat 6G Vision Document"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS2\/ Governance, GS3\/ Science and Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Bharat 6G Vision envisaged India to be a frontline contributor in design, development and deployment of 6G technology by 2030.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is 6G (sixth-generation wireless)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The 6G<\/strong> has been conceived as a far superior technology promising internet speeds up to<strong> 100 times faster than 5G.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As opposed to 5G, which at its peak can offer internet speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, 6G promises to <strong>offer ultra-low latency<\/strong> with speeds up to <strong>1 terabits per second.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The 6G Technology has been named <strong>\u2018IMT 2030\u2019<\/strong> by the <strong>International Telecommunication Union (ITU).<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The frequency bands <strong>4400-4800 MHz, 7125-8400 MHz (or parts thereof), and 14.8-15.35 GHz <\/strong>are being studied in ITU for the use of international Mobile Telecommunications (IMT).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bharat 6G Vision<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The government plans to implement the 6G project in two phases;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Phase 1 from 2023-2025 (2 years):<\/strong> In Phase 1, support will be provided to explorative ideas, risky pathways, and proof-of-concept tests.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Phase 2 from 2025-2030 (5 years):<\/strong> In Phase 2 there is conceptualization and commercialization of technology solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use cases of 6G <\/strong>include remote-controlled factories, constantly communicating self-driven cars and smart wearables taking inputs directly from human senses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff2cc\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Bharat 6G Alliance<\/strong><br>&#8211;
