He embarked on a spiritual journey after meeting Ibrahim Qandozi, a mystic.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Moin-ud-din, believed to be a descendant of Muhammad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spiritual Training<\/strong>: Moinuddin studied various subjects in Bukhara and Samarkand before being initiated into the Chishti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/blog\/sufi-movement\/#:~:text=The%20Sufi%20Movement%20refers%20to%20the%20spread%20of,a%20spiritual%20path%20focused%20on%20love%20and%20compassion.\">Sufi <\/a>order by Khwaja Usman Harooni near Herat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arrival in Ajmer<\/strong>: in 1192\u00a0 CE, Moinuddin arrived in Ajmer, during the decline of the Chauhan dynasty following its defeat by Muhammad of Ghor.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00a0He chose to stay and help the suffering population.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Title &#8220;Garib Nawaz&#8221;: <\/strong>Moinuddin earned the title <strong>&#8220;Garib Nawaz&#8221;<\/strong> (friend of the poor) for his selfless service, including building a refuge and langarkhana (community kitchen) for the homeless and needy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contributions and Teachings\u00a0 : <\/strong>Moinuddin interacted with <strong>Hindu mystics and sages, sharing common values of devotion <\/strong>and rejecting religious orthodoxy, focusing on equality and divine love.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sufism emerged as a devotiona<\/strong>l and ascetic form of Islam, and the Chishti order, founded in the 10th century, was spread by Moinuddin and his disciples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disciples :<\/strong> Prominent disciples like Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki, Baba Fariduddin, Nizamuddin Auliya, and Chirag Dehalvi helped spread Moinuddin\u2019s teachings.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>His influence extended across regions and cultures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mughal Patronage<\/strong>: Emperor Akbar revered Moinuddin, made pilgrimages to his shrine, and helped beautify Ajmer, contributing to the city\u2019s revival.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legacy: <\/strong>\u00a0Moinuddin\u2019s teachings of love, compassion, and inclusivity continue to resonate in India&#8217;s religiously diverse landscape, bridging cultural gaps between communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/blog\/sufi-movement\/#:~:text=The%20Sufi%20Movement%20refers%20to%20the%20spread%20of,a%20spiritual%20path%20focused%20on%20love%20and%20compassion.\"><strong>Sufism<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img data-dominant-color=\"bdc6d8\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"206\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-images.nextias.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=auto\/ca\/uploads\/2024\/12\/About-Sufism.png\" alt=\"About Sufism\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-33041\" style=\"--dominant-color: #bdc6d8;
