Tourism,Safety &amp; Security,Health &amp; Hygiene.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs): <\/strong>In 2023, India recorded 9.24 million FTAs, a 43.5% growth compared to 2022 (6.44 million).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from FTAs grew by 65%, reaching \u20b92.3 lakh crore in 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Measures to Increase FTAs:<\/strong> Promotion of adventure and niche tourism.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Easier access to e-visas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launch of a 24&#215;7 multilingual helpline for tourists.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launch of Paryatan Didi and Paryatan Mitra for a better tourist experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 2023, 2,509.63 million Domestic Tourist Visits (DTVs) were recorded, up from 1,731.01 million in 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Government\u2019s Initiatives\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The government is prioritizing adventure tourism and sustainable tourism along with technological integration to increase sector growth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Infrastructure Investment<\/strong>: India has invested around \u20b97,000 crore (approximately $1 billion) in building tourism infrastructure to improve the tourist experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiatives like <strong>Dekho Apna Desh, PRASHAD, Vibrant Village Programme, SWADESH 2.0<\/strong>, and Udaan aim to promote domestic tourism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Challenges\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Infrastructure Deficiencies<\/strong>: Poor connectivity in remote areas, limited quality accommodation in rural destinations, and inadequate basic amenities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Safety and Security Concerns:<\/strong> Issues such as crime, health risks from disease outbreaks, and political instability in certain regions can deter tourists.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environmental Impact<\/strong>: Pollution in urban areas, overtourism leading to the degradation of popular destinations, and potential harm to wildlife and ecosystems due to tourism in sensitive areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cultural Sensitivities: <\/strong>Tourists may unintentionally disrespect local customs, and increased tourism can threaten the preservation of cultural and heritage sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Marketing and Promotion<\/strong>: Inadequate awareness and ineffective branding campaigns, like &#8220;Incredible India,&#8221;
