has raised concerns by urging a halt to state funding for madrasas unless they adhere to the Right to Education (RTE) Act.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Background: <\/strong>NCPCR is a statutory body set up under the <strong>Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is under the administrative control of the <strong>Ministry of Women &amp; Child Development.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Structure: <\/strong>This commission has a<strong> chairperson and six members<\/strong> of which at least two should be women.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Commission\u2019s Mandate<\/strong> is to ensure that all Laws, Policies, Programmes, and Administrative Mechanisms are in consonance with the Child Rights perspective as enshrined in the Constitution of India and also the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Child is defined as a person in the<strong> 0 to 18 years<\/strong> age group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Functions of NCPCR<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Commission shall <strong>examine and review the legal safeguards<\/strong> in place for the protection of child rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It shall<strong> present reports to the Central Government<\/strong> annually or Election Commission of India brought in <strong>new rules <\/strong>for <strong>allocation of symbols to Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ECI has made it <strong>mandatory <\/strong>for them to furnish audited accounts of last three financial years, expenditure statements of last two elections, and the signature of the authorised office-bearer of the party along with the application form for symbols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RUPPs <\/strong>are either <strong>newly-registered parties<\/strong> or those which have <strong>not secured enough percentage of votes<\/strong> in the Assembly or general election to become a State party, or those that have never contested elections after being registered.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Common symbols are provided to RUPPs based upon an undertaking that they would put up \u201cat least 5% of total candidates with regard to said Legislative Assembly election of a State\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3
