{"id":28120,"date":"2024-08-22T18:48:36","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T13:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/?p=28120"},"modified":"2024-08-24T00:03:51","modified_gmt":"2024-08-23T18:33:51","slug":"prime-ministers-state-visit-to-poland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/22-08-2024\/prime-ministers-state-visit-to-poland","title":{"rendered":"Prime Minister\u2019s State Visit to Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS2\/IR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Context<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a State visit to Poland, it is the <strong>first Indian prime minister visit to Poland in 45 years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The visit coincides with the <strong>70th anniversary of diplomatic relations<\/strong> between Poland and India, marking a milestone in the long-standing relationship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The talks between the two nations are set to cover a wide array of sectors including<strong> agriculture, information technology, security, and eco-friendly technologies,<\/strong> with a particular focus on<strong> India\u2019s advancements in the space industry.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The visit signifies a<strong> deepening of political and economic ties<\/strong> and holds international significance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Overview of India-Poland Relations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Diplomatic relations<\/strong> were established in <strong>1954<\/strong>, the two countries shared <strong>common ideological perceptions<\/strong>, based on their opposition to colonialism, imperialism and racism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Historical Relations: <\/strong>The two countries share several chapters of history.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During World War II, the Maharaja of Jamnagar provided refuge to several hundred Polish women and children trying to reach the West.
