wp-elements-70bb6fa7933fd51c66db582a07420b7d\" style=\"color:#ff6a00\"><strong>About the G4 Model<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India presented the \u2018G4 model\u2019 on behalf of <strong>Brazil, Germany, Japan and India<\/strong> for debate, dialogue and finally negotiations.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The proposals elicited strong support from wider UN members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New Members:<\/strong> It proposes that the Security Council\u2019s membership increase from the current<strong> 15 to 25-26,<\/strong> by adding <strong>six permanent<\/strong> and<strong> four or five non-permanent members.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regional Representation:<\/strong> Among the six new permanent members,<strong> two<\/strong> each are proposed to be from <strong>African states and Asia Pacific states,<\/strong> <strong>one from Latin American and Caribbean states;<\/strong> and <strong>one from Western Europea<\/strong>n and Other states.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Flexibility in Veto:<\/strong> The G4 model offered<strong> flexibility on the veto,<\/strong> while the new permanent members would, as a principle, have the same responsibilities and obligations as current permanent members, they <strong>shall not exercise the veto until <\/strong>a decision on the matter has been taken during a Security Council (UNSC) is <strong>one of the principal organs<\/strong> of the United Nations, responsible for <strong>maintaining international peace and security.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It was established in <strong>1945<\/strong> as part of the UN Charter and is composed of <strong>15 member states<\/strong>, including<strong> five permanent members<\/strong> with veto power\u2014China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States\u2014and <strong>ten non-permanent members<\/strong> elected for <strong>two-year terms<\/strong> by the General Assembly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is headquartered in New York City.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color powers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legitimacy:<\/strong> The disproportionate power held by the five permanent members, particularly their veto power, ca<strong>n lead to a app-based delivery persons earn less than \u20b910,000 a month, while 78% of them are spending over 10 hours each day at work.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Demographic trends:<\/strong> Out of 5302 cab drivers and 5028 delivery persons across eight cities participated in a 50-question survey, 78% of the respondents were in the age group of 21 to 40 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Risky business:<\/strong> Due to the demanding work hours, the study found that drivers are physically exhausted, and exposed to an increased risk of road traffic accidents, especially due to the <strong>\u201810-minute delivery at the doorstep\u2019 policy<\/strong> of certain e-commerce platforms.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The report said that 86% of delivery persons found such policies <strong>\u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d.<\/strong> The lack of social and job security creates additional stress and leads to potential health issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expenses exceed earnings:<\/strong> While 72% of the cab drivers said that they face difficulty in managing expenses, 76% of the delivery persons are struggling to make their ends meet.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>68% of cab drivers\u2019 responses even show that their overall expenses exceed their earnings, which indicate how a vast number of app-based workers could be in debt-like situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Huge deductions: <\/strong>35% of the respondents reported the companies are deducting between 31-40% of commission rate per ride, while the officially claimed figure by the companies themselves is 20%.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Customer misbehavior:<\/strong> Customer behaviour affects a significant majority (72%) of drivers in a negative way, while 68% of delivery persons are reportedly affected by it negatively,\u201d the report said.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inability to take leaves:<\/strong> It added that 41% of the drivers said they are unable to take even a single day off in a week; 48% of delivery persons too reported their inability to take a weekly off.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Issue of ID deactivation:<\/strong> A glaring 83% of the drivers reported that the issue of ID blocking affects them negatively, 47% stated that this issue extremely affects them.
