location in the Indian Ocean<\/strong>, faces a diverse range of maritime security challenges.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" has been fighting <strong>Yemen\u2019s Sunni-majority government<\/strong> since 2004.&nbsp;<br>&#8211; The <strong>Houthis took over the Yemeni capital Sanaa<\/strong> in September 2014 and seized control over much of <strong>north Yemen<\/strong> by 2016.&nbsp;<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"441\" height=\"275\" earth\u2019s surface.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pivot to important areas:<\/strong> Important sea lanes of communication and trading routes link Africa, Asia, and Australia, substantially increasing connectivity in the broader global economy.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Trade routes:<\/strong> Over <strong>80 percent of petroleum<\/strong> transported through the maritime domain transits the Indian Ocean choke points of Malacca, Bab-el Mandeb, and Hormuz.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Threat prone: <\/strong>The Indian Ocean and its peripheral waters remain vulnerable to destabilizing actors, including pirates and armed robbers, maritime terrorists, and illicit traders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" surveillance, communication systems, and logistics pose challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Manpower Shortage:<\/strong> The Indian Navy and Coast Guard face a shortage of personnel, requiring efficient recruitment and training programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technological Advancements: <\/strong>Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and unmanned vehicles require adoption and integration into security measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Measures<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul security landscape is constantly evolving<\/strong>, hence adequate preparedness is needed with its rising stature in the geopolitics.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By <strong>continuously adapting<\/strong> to new threats,<strong> investing in technology and infrastructure, and strengthening cooperation<\/strong>, India can ensure the safety and security of its maritime
