{"id":17470,"date":"2023-09-21T17:44:59","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T12:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/current_affairs\/?p=17470"},"modified":"2023-09-21T17:45:02","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T12:15:02","slug":"pm-vishwakarma-scheme-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/21-09-2023\/pm-vishwakarma-scheme-2","title":{"rendered":"PM Vishwakarma Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus:GS2\/ Welfare Schemes, GS-3\/Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">News<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In commemoration of &#8216;Vishwakarma Jayanti&#8217;, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the &#8216;PM Vishwakarma&#8217; scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PM Vishwakarma, is a <strong>Central Sector Scheme <\/strong>with an outlay of <strong>\u20b913,000 crore<\/strong>&nbsp; to provide end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople who work with their hands and tools.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It has been launched to improve the quality as well as the reach of products and services of artisans and craftspeople in rural and urban areas across India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Scheme covers artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 trades<\/strong>, such as carpenter (Suthar); boat maker; armourer; blacksmith; potter; sculptor, tailor; fishing net maker etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Features<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the first year, <strong>five lakh families<\/strong> will be covered and a total of <strong>30 lakh families<\/strong> will be covered over five years from <strong>FY-24 to FY-28.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The prospective beneficiaries will be registered free of charge through <strong>common services centres<\/strong> using the biometric-based <strong>PM Vishwakarma portal.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Scheme envisages provisioning of the following benefits to the artisans and craftspersons:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Recognition:<\/strong> Recognition of artisans and craftspeople through PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Skill Upgradation:<\/strong> Basic Training of 5-7 days and Advanced Training of 15 days or more, with a stipend of Rs. 500 per day;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Toolkit Incentive:<\/strong> A toolkit incentive of upto Rs. 15,000 in the form of e-vouchers at the beginning of Basic Skill Training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Credit Support:<\/strong> Collateral free \u2018Enterprise Development Loans\u2019 of upto Rs. 3 lakh<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Marketing Support: <\/strong>Marketing support will be provided to the artisans and craftspeople in the form of quality certification, branding, onboarding on e-commerce platforms such as GeM, advertising to improve linkage to value chain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1959098\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Syllabus:GS2\/ Welfare Schemes, GS-3\/Economy News About Features Source: PIB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-17470","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-affairs"],"acf":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17470","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=17470"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17470\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":17472,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17470\/revisions\/17472"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17470"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=17470"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=17470"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
