{"id":17395,"date":"2023-09-20T17:27:47","date_gmt":"2023-09-20T11:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/current_affairs\/?p=17395"},"modified":"2023-09-20T17:28:02","modified_gmt":"2023-09-20T11:58:02","slug":"flux-cored-solder-wire-quality-control-order-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/20-09-2023\/flux-cored-solder-wire-quality-control-order-2023","title":{"rendered":"Flux Cored Solder Wire (Quality Control) Order, 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS2\/Important aspects of governance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Context<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A new Quality Control Order (QCO) for \u2018Flux Cored Solder Wire\u2019 was notified by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About: Flux Cored Solder Wire<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It includes a specific type of solder wire that has flux in the centre of the wire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is used in soldering electronic components, automobiles, telecommunication and diverse engineering industries.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Establishing a quality control regime, by DPIIT, for its key products<\/strong> such as smart metres, welding rods &amp; electrodes, Cookware and Utensils, Fire Extinguishers, Electric Ceiling Type Fans, Solar DC Cable and Fire Survival Cable and Domestic Gas Stoves for use with Piped Natural Gas etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Importance of Quality Control Order (QCO) for Flux Cored Solder Wire:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is crucial for the safety of the consumers, and to improve the manufacturing quality standards in the country and curb the imports of sub-standard products into India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It aims to develop world-class products of good quality in India, thereby fulfilling the objective of creating an \u2018<strong>Aatmanirbhar Bharat\u2019<\/strong>, and enhancing the brand and value of \u2018<strong>Made in India\u2019 products.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Relaxation<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To ensure smooth implementation of the QCO and Ease of Doing Business, relaxations have been granted to <strong>domestic small industries with three months<\/strong>, and <strong>micro industries with six months<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Offence and Penalties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manufacturing, storing and sale of non-BIS certified products will be <strong>prohibited as per the BIS Act, 2016,<\/strong> after the implementation of the QCOs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The violation of the provision of the BIS Act can <strong>attract a penalty of imprisonment up to two years<\/strong> or with <strong>fine of at least Rs 2 lakh for the first offence.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In case of <strong>second and subsequent offences<\/strong>, the fine will increase to <strong>Rs 5 lakh minimum<\/strong> and extend up to ten times the value of goods or articles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1958802\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source: PIB<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Syllabus: GS2\/Important aspects of governance Context About: Flux Cored Solder Wire Importance of Quality Control Order (QCO) for Flux Cored Solder Wire: Relaxation: Offence and Penalties: Source: PIB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-17395","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-affairs"],"acf":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17395","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=17395"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17395\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":17397,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17395\/revisions\/17397"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17395"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=17395"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=17395"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
