{"id":17343,"date":"2023-09-19T17:57:59","date_gmt":"2023-09-19T12:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/current_affairs\/?p=17343"},"modified":"2023-09-19T17:58:03","modified_gmt":"2023-09-19T12:28:03","slug":"b-360-aircraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/19-09-2023\/b-360-aircraft","title":{"rendered":"B-360 Aircraft"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus:<\/strong> Prelims\/Current Events of national importance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">News<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Airports Authority of India (AAI) <\/strong>recently added <strong>two new B-360 types of aircraft<\/strong> equipped with <strong>advanced state-of -the -art Flight Inspection systems <\/strong>into the AAI Flight Inspection Fleet.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It was<strong> to meet the flying requirement <\/strong>for Flight Calibration of the increased number of Ground Navigational\/landing aids installed at airports in India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With the induction of these new aircraft in its fleet, <strong>AAI will be able to accomplish the timely flight calibration of the Ground Radio Navigational\/visual aids at all airports in the country.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AAI will <strong>also provide necessary support by undertaking flight calibrations in the neighboring countries,<\/strong> which will also lead to generation of revenue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Airports Authority of India (AAI)<\/strong><br><\/span>&#8211; AAI is a <strong>statutory body<\/strong> responsible for <strong>creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure<\/strong> in the country.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br>&#8211; It is also responsible for the <strong>provision of Air Navigation Services over the Indian continental airspace <\/strong>and <strong>adjoining oceanic airspace<\/strong>, delegated to India by ICAO.\u00a0<br>&#8211; AAI also functions as the <strong>major airport operator in India, responsible for management of 133 Airports<\/strong> which include 24 International Airports, 78 Domestic Airports, 10 Custom Airports and 21 Civil Enclaves.<br>&#8211; <strong>AAI\u2019s vision is to be World\u2019s leading Airport Developer, Operator and Air Navigation Service Provider<\/strong> with a <strong>mission to enhance air connectivity <\/strong>across the nation and be an environment conscious sustainable organization.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Flight Inspection Unit<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Flight Inspection Unit of Airports Authority of India is a very <strong>critical component in the safety chain of Air Navigation Service provided by Airports Authority of India<\/strong> throughout the Indian airspace.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flight Inspection being critical in ensuring the best international standards as set by the <strong>International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),<\/strong> needs to keep pace to ensure Indian aviation gets this equipment to function to the strictest parameters.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presently, The FIU of AAI operates <strong>One Dornier-228 and One B-350 aircraft<\/strong> for Flight Calibration \/Inspection purposes and calibrates the Navigational aids like Instrument Landing Systems and Precision Approach Path Indicator installed at the numerous airports around the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1958584\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> PIB<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Syllabus: Prelims\/Current Events of national importance News About Airports Authority of India (AAI)&#8211;
