{"id":17148,"date":"2023-09-14T18:04:18","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T12:34:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/current_affairs\/?p=17148"},"modified":"2023-09-15T14:14:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T08:44:58","slug":"c-295-transport-aircraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/14-09-2023\/c-295-transport-aircraft","title":{"rendered":"C-295 Transport Aircraft"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS3\/Defence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Context:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The C295 is expected to replace India\u2019s ageing Avro-748 transport fleet, which was first flown in 1961.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India formalised the acquisition of 56 Airbus C-295 aircraft <strong>to replace the legacy Avro fleet of the IAF<\/strong> at a cost of Rs 21,935 crore in <br>September 2021.<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"289\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/0-XsKMr-t8YP6McjzHD6Lhn0xe3wgyyWiZoFOSJLRUpLJfEalm0pjXvBRVfbR3rs47y-4NAr05DaIU3n4_CrVuW3bxycwULY05aup_GX33ViUrSl4IekJqQXAFxPkX1OQ5c9v6Vxyfr-9DhBrVqedQc\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under the deal, <strong>Airbus <\/strong>will deliver the first <strong>16 aircraft in &#8216;fly-away&#8217;
