{"id":17057,"date":"2023-09-11T10:02:40","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T10:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/current_affairs\/?p=17057"},"modified":"2023-09-13T10:04:13","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T10:04:13","slug":"varicella-zoster-virus-vzv-11-09-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextias.com\/ca\/current-affairs\/11-09-2023\/varicella-zoster-virus-vzv-11-09-2023","title":{"rendered":"Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) &#8211; 11-09-2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Syllabus: GS-2\/Health; GS-3\/Science<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">In News<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>While doing a surveillance of mpox (monkeypox) cases in India, the Indian Council of Medical Research-National Institute of Virology (ICMR-NIV) has for the <strong>first time<\/strong> found the presence of <strong>Clade 9 variant of varicella zoster virus (VZV) in India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">About<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Names:<\/strong> Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is also known as human herpesvirus 3 (HHV-3, HHV3) or Human alphaherpesvirus 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Type:<\/strong> It is one of nine known <strong>herpes viruses<\/strong> that can infect humans. (Herpesviridae is a large family of DNA viruses that cause infections and certain diseases in animals, including humans.
