Majorly used in Northern Indian classical music.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is held at a higher angle of elevation, i.e, <strong>almost vertically.<\/strong> It consists of t<strong>wo large vibrating boxes.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unlike a sitar or sarod, the <strong>rudra veena does not have resonance strings.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/h5PwfXBBteexoLWXx0ZEmVJCTYDbkL7klZ5m1OfEpGHa44XqSQClC1VT01jz3m1DbeKGcvaE2_6rpkXtDZXVQhVB2USTGLH_8jJIfx9t5WrmVVIQSIao5-FEVNZXMgK2TmQFIztj57VQbwzDdTdjcAI\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The word veena is believed to have been derived from the word <strong>vana,<\/strong> a string <strong>instrument mentioned in the Rig Veda.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is believed that Rudra Veena was created by <strong>Lord Shiva<\/strong> as a tribute to the <strong>beauty of Goddess Parvati.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rudra Veena has now become a <strong>rare instrument<\/strong> almost on the verge of extinction.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Both, the craftsmen who create the instrument as well as its players are rarely found now.
