Recently,<\/span><\/span><\/span> Britain and Japan<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> signed a new strategic partnership and agreed to \u201cdeepen\u201d collaboration between NATO and Tokyo.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

During the Shangri-La summit, the British Defence Secretary said having such an office in Japan is <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201cin the interests of NATO\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

In addition, NATO plans to further strengthen collaboration with its four major partners in the Asia-Pacific region\u2014Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

The alliance will formulate an Individually Tailored Partnership Program with all four countries\u2014an upgrade to a higher form of partnership.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

One of the recent reports argues that the Quad needs more muscle to live up to its potential and for that, the <\/span><\/span><\/span>group should focus on a security agenda<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, especially<\/span><\/span><\/span> maritime security<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, to serve as a <\/span><\/span><\/span>deterrent to China.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
