    • The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is composed of a Chairperson and eight other members.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • The chairperson is retired chief justice of India or a judge of the Supreme Court.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Those eight members are:<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

The Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) became the first Institution to be declared Standard Developing Organisation (SDO) under the <\/span><\/span><\/span>“One Nation One Standard” mission.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • To attain the <\/span><\/span><\/span>One Nation One Standard goal<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>,\u00a0 BIS has launched a scheme that provides for the Recognition of SDO.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Recognition of RDSO as SDO will help in the implementation of <\/span><\/span><\/span>National Standards and creating a Brand India identity.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

    • RDSO is the sole <\/span><\/span><\/span>R&D Wing of the Ministry of Railways<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, and one of India\u2019s leading Standard formulating bodies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs called upon <\/span><\/span><\/span>Government e-Marketplace (GeM)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, to expand its scope and include more participants in the GeM portal for public procurement.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) said that it has introduced the <\/span><\/span><\/span>world’s first Nano Urea Liquid <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>for farmers across the world.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Nano Urea Liquid is developed to <\/span><\/span><\/span>replace the conventional urea<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, it will restrict its requirement to almost half.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Nano Urea Liquid has been found effective and efficient for plant nutrition which increases the production with improved nutritional quality.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • It will also have a huge positive impact on the quality of underground water, a very significant reduction in global warming with an impact on climate change and sustainable development.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) Initiative\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n

  • The initiative was launched in October 2018 by the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> in association with Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) viz. Indian Oil Corporation LtdBharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • It is aimed at setting up of <\/span><\/span><\/span>Compressed Biogas production <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>plants and making them available in the <\/span><\/span><\/span>market for use in automotive fuels <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>by inviting Expression of Interest from potential entrepreneurs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • It will establish an <\/span><\/span><\/span>ecosystem for the production<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> of <\/span><\/span><\/span>Compressed BioGas<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> from various waste and biomass sources in the country leading to multiple benefits viz.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

  • It is a <\/span><\/span><\/span>disinfection system<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> developed by Mumbai-based startup Indra Water.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • The validation and testing of the system was done by the Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering at IIT Bombay.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

    • It was tested with<\/span><\/span><\/span> Escherichia virus MS2 (a single-stranded RNA virus and a well-known surrogate of human respiratory viruses such as influenza virus and coronavirus) <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span><\/span>E.coli strain C3000<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • The system employs a <\/span><\/span><\/span>multistage disinfection process <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>consisting of advanced oxidation, corona discharge and <\/span><\/span><\/span>UV-C light spectrum<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> to inactivate the v<\/span><\/span><\/span>iruses, bacteria, and other microbial <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>strains present on the PPE, achieving more than <\/span><\/span><\/span>99.999% efficiency.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
