Recently, the central government has launched the <\/span><\/span><\/span>PM-CARES for Children Scheme<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Key Points<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Under this scheme, the government will provide <\/span><\/span><\/span>Rs 10 lakh fund<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span><\/span>free education for kids orphaned<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> (lost both parents or guardians) due to COVID.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Key Features:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      \n
    • Financial Aid:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
        \n
      • Under this scheme, such children will get monthly financial support till <\/span><\/span><\/span>18 years of age<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, and the government will also support the child’s requirements during the period of higher education.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • On reaching the age of <\/span><\/span><\/span>23 years<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, the child will get the corpus amount as one lump sum for personal and professional use.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • School education: For children between 11 and 18 years:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
          \n
        • Admission will be given to the child in any Central Government residential school such as Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
        • If the child is admitted to a private school, the fees as per the RTE norms will be given from the PM CARES.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
        • PM CARES will also pay for expenditure on uniform, textbooks, and notebooks.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Support for higher education:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
            \n
          • Assistance will be provided in obtaining an education loan for professional courses \/ higher education in India. The interest on this loan will be paid by the PM CARES.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • Scholarships equivalent to the tuition fees\/course fees for undergraduate\/ vocational courses as per government norms will be provided to such children under Central or State Government schemes.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • For children who are not eligible under the existing scholarship schemes, PM CARES will provide an equivalent scholarship.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Health insurance:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
              \n
            • All children will be enrolled as a beneficiary under <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ayushman Bharat Scheme (PM-JAY)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> with a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

Recently, a farmer from Himachal Pradesh has developed an innovative self-pollinating apple variety namely, <\/span><\/span><\/span>HRMN 99<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • The variety has been named in the name of the farmer, Hariman Sharma.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
