  • It is a fraudulent investing scam<\/strong> promising high rates of return with little risk to investors.<\/li>\n
  • It involves unscrupulous investors taking advantage of unsuspecting individuals<\/strong> by promising them extraordinary returns<\/strong> in exchange for their money.<\/li>\n
  • Investors give money to a portfolio manager. Then, when they want their money back, they are paid out with the incoming funds contributed by later investors.<\/li>\n
  • It eventually bottoms out when the flood of new investors dries up<\/strong> and there is not enough money to go around. At that point, the schemes unravel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

FASTag<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n

  • FASTag, India\u2019s electronic toll collection chip<\/strong> for national highways, is a sticker or a tag<\/strong> usually pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle.<\/li>\n
  • It uses Radio-Frequency Identification<\/strong> (RFID) technology to ensure that the relevant charges are automatically deducted<\/strong> from a bank account or a prepaid wallet linked to the FASTag.<\/li>\n
  • Vehicles can drive through plazas without stopping and once the car crosses the toll plaza the requisite toll amount is automatically deducted with an SMS alert on the deduction.<\/li>\n
  • The National Highways Authority of India<\/strong> (NHAI) through its subsidiary Indian Highway Management Company Limited <\/strong>(IHMCL) sells and operates FASTag.<\/li>\n
  • It is mandatory <\/strong>for all vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) had constituted the \u2018National Startup Advisory Council <\/strong>to drive sustainable economic growth and generate<\/strong> large scale employment opportunities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

  • Chairman<\/strong>: Minister for Commerce & Industry.<\/li>\n
  • Convener of the Council<\/strong>: Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.<\/li>\n
  • Ex-officio Members<\/strong>: Nominees of the concerned Ministries\/Departments\/Organisations not below the rank of Joint Secretary.<\/li>\n
  • Non-official members,<\/strong> to be nominated by the Central Government, from various categories like founders of successful startups, veterans who have grown and scaled companies in India, persons capable of representing the interests of investors into startups, etc.<\/li>\n
  • The term of the non-official members will be for a period of two years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  • The Department of Food & Public Distribution started the implementation of \u201cPradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY)<\/strong>\u201d for a period of three months i.e. April, May and June 2020 and had been extended for five more months.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • It is a scheme as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat to supply free food grain<\/strong>s to migrants<\/strong> and the poor.<\/li>\n
  • Under the scheme, five kgs of wheat <\/strong>or rice and one kg of pulses per month<\/strong> will be given free of cost to the poor.<\/li>\n
  • It aimed to ensure sufficient foods for the poor and needy amid the coronavirus crisis. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Electronic Visa (e-visa)<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n

  • The India e-Visa is an electronic authorization<\/strong> to travel to India for business, tourism, or medical visits.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • It was introduced by the Narendra Modi government in 2014.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • An e-visa is provided in five categories \u2014 tourist, business, conference, medical, and medical attendant.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • The e-visa is a regular visa issued electronically.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has restored the electronic visa (e-visa)<\/strong> facility for foreigners from 156 countries,<\/strong> who intend to visit India for the purposes of business,<\/strong> conferences, and for medical reasons,<\/strong> including in the case of medical attendants.<\/li>\n
