Cotton Corporation of India (CCI)<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n

  • It was established on 31st July 1970<\/strong> under the administrative control of the Ministry of Textiles<\/strong> as a Public Sector Undertaking<\/strong> (PSU) under the Companies Act, 1956<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Functions<\/strong>\n

    • Undertake price support operations, whenever the market prices fall below the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) <\/strong>without any quantitative limit.<\/li>\n
    • Fulfil raw material requirements of the domestic textile industry particularly for a lean season, undertaking commercial purchase operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Headquarters:<\/strong> Belapur, Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra).<\/li>\n
    • Cover all the cotton-growing states:<\/strong>\n

      • Northern Zone:<\/strong> Punjab, Haryana & Rajasthan.<\/li>\n

    • The recipients are honoured for their “outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema<\/strong>.”<\/li>\n
    • The award comprises<\/strong> a Swarna Kamal<\/em> (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl, and a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh.<\/li>\n

Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC)<\/h2>\n

  • BIMSTEC is a regional organization<\/strong> comprising seven Member States<\/strong> lying in the littoral and adjacent<\/strong> areas of the Bay of Bengal<\/strong> constituting a contiguous regional unity.<\/li>\n
  • Members: <\/strong>India, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • The grouping holds annual meetings hosted by member states based on alphabetical rotation. Sri Lanka is the host nation this time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • It was established through the Bangkok Declaration in 1997<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      • It will focus on enhancing multilateral<\/strong> cooperation <\/strong>and engagement with countries<\/strong> from around the globe to collectively develop and strengthen<\/strong> the startup ecosystems<\/li>\n
      • The BIMSTEC region is home to roughly 22 percent of the global population with a combined GDP of over $2.7 trillion.<\/li>\n

Joint Logistics Node (JLN)<\/h2>\n<\/td>\n

  • Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat operationalised the third Joint Logistics Node (JLN)<\/strong> in Mumbai.\n
      \n
    • This is the third JLN to be set up in three months, with the aim of integrating the military\u2019s<\/strong> logistics set-up<\/strong> and improving its war-fighting<\/strong> ability<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • \u00a0Logistics nodes were operationalised in Guwahati and Port Blair on January 1, 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • The JLNs \u201cwill provide integrated logistics<\/strong> cover to the armed forces <\/strong>for their small arms ammunition,<\/strong> rations, fuel, general stores,<\/strong> civil hired transport, aviation clothing<\/strong>, spares<\/strong> and also engineering support<\/strong> in an effort to synergise their operational efforts\u201d<\/li>\n
    • Significance: <\/strong>The initiative would help in saving manpower, economical utilisation of resources<\/strong>, besides financial savings.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

ECLGS 3.0<\/h2>\n<\/td>\n

The Government has extended the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS)<\/strong> through the introduction of ECLGS 3.0<\/strong> which widened its scope to cover business enterprises<\/strong> in the Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, Leisure & Sporting sectors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
    \n
  • ECLGS 3.0 would involve the extension of credit of up to 40%<\/strong> of total credit outstanding <\/strong>across all lending institutions as on 29.02.2020<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • The tenor of loans granted under ECLGS 3.0 shall be 6 years<\/strong> including a moratorium period of 2 years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    ECGLS <\/strong><\/p>\n
