MICE Roadshow – Meet in India<\/h2>\n<\/td>\n

  • Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge) will inaugurate the \u2018Chhatrasal Convention Centre<\/strong> at Khajuraho developed under the Swadesh Darshan<\/strong> Scheme<\/strong> of the Ministry of Tourism<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • He will also launch the \u201cMICE Roadshow Meet in India\u201d <\/strong>Brand and Roadmap for the Promotion of India as MICE Destination<\/strong> in Khajuraho<\/strong>.\n
      \n
    • The acronym \u201cMICE\u201d stands for \u201cMeetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions<\/strong>\u201d, and is essentially a version of business tourism<\/strong> that draws domestic and international tourists to a destination.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • It will provide a tremendous boost<\/strong> to Khajuraho as an iconic tourist destination particularly the MICE potential of Khajuraho.\n
          \n
        • The Ministry of Tourism has framed \u2018Development of Iconic Tourist Destinations Scheme\u2019<\/strong> a Central Sector Scheme for the development of nineteen identified iconic destinations in the country following a holistic approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Khajuraho<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Khajuraho Temples are among the most beautiful medieval monuments<\/strong> in the country.<\/li>\n
          • These temples were built by the Chandella ruler between AD 900 and 1130.<\/strong><\/li>\n
          • The group of temples of Khajuraho testifies<\/strong> to the culmination of northern Indian temple<\/strong> art .<\/li>\n
          • They fall into three distinct groups and belong to two different religions \u2013 Hinduism and Jainism. They strike a perfect balance between architecture and sculpture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  • Champion Services Sectors<\/strong> refers to the 12 identified sectors<\/strong> where the Government wants to give focused attention<\/strong> to promoting their<\/strong> development<\/strong> and realizing their potential. <\/strong>\n

    • These include Information Technology & Information Technology enabled Services (IT & ITeS), Tourism and Hospitality Services, Medical Value Travel, Transport<\/strong> and Logistics Services, Accounting<\/strong> and Finance Services, Audio Visual Services, Legal Services, Communication Services, Construction and Related Engineering Services, Environmental Services, Financial Services and Education Services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • The respective line Ministries\/Departments<\/strong> finalizes the Action Plans and the implementation<\/strong> timelines along with a monitoring mechanism<\/strong> to monitor implementation under the overall guidance of the Committee of Secretaries (CoS) <\/strong>under Cabinet Secretary.<\/li>\n
    • The idea was launched and accepted in February 2018.<\/li>\n
    • A dedicated fund of Rs. 5000 crores have been proposed to be established to support initiatives<\/strong> for sectoral Action Plans of the Champion Sectors.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  • It is a company with no commercial operations<\/strong> and is formed strictly to raise capital <\/strong>through an Initial Public Offering<\/strong> (IPO) for the purpose of acquiring an existing company.<\/li>\n
  • These are also known as “blank check companies<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n
  • Investors in SPACs can range from well-known private equity funds<\/strong> to the general public<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Once the money is raised<\/strong> from the public, it is kept in an escrow account<\/strong>, which can be accessed while making the acquisition.<\/li>\n
  • If the acquisition is not made within two years<\/strong> of the IPO, the SPAC is delisted and the money is returned<\/strong> to the investors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

  • It is an exercise done between two navies<\/strong> to ensure that they are able to communicate and cooperate<\/strong> in times of war or humanitarian relief.<\/li>\n
