width: 127.5pt;\">\n<h3>Muria Tribe<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #efefef; width: 340.5pt;\">\n<ul>\n<li>It is a<strong> Gond tribe<\/strong> from the <strong>highlands of the Bastar<\/strong> region in southern <strong>Chhattisgarh<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>Gond is a Scheduled<strong> Tribe (ST) from central and south-central India<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>They are known for their <strong>youth dormitories<\/strong> (<em>ghotul<\/em>) in which the <strong>unmarried of both sexes lead a highly organized social life<\/strong> and receive training in civic duties and in sexual practices.<\/li>\n<li>They have the custom of making <strong>dead pillars <\/strong>(<em>gudi<\/em>) in <strong>South Bastar, <\/strong>where people are <strong>buried with a wide and sharp 6-7 feet high stone<\/strong> placed on the grave.<\/li>\n<li>Muria tribal women participate in<strong> barter systems<\/strong> to <strong>exchange forest products<\/strong> like mahua flower, tamarind and other minor forest products.\n<ul>\n<li>Chhattisgarh is known as <strong>India\u2019s Mahua Bowl<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Mahua (<em>Madhuca longifolia<\/em>) is an <strong>Indian tropical tree<\/strong> found largely in the <strong>central and north Indian plains<\/strong> and forests.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>dried flower<\/strong> is used to <strong>brew liquor<\/strong> by the local tribes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: 168px; width: 127.5pt;\">\n<h3>Lachit Borphukan<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #cfe2f3; width: 340.5pt;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Born:<\/strong> 24th November 1622.\n<ul>\n<li>This day is celebrated by the people of Assam and the nation as <strong>Lachit Diwas<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>He was an<strong> Army General <\/strong>of Ahom (Assam) Kingdom and is revered as the <strong>greatest military hero of Assam<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>He excelled in the art of <strong>Guerrilla Warfare<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>He is known for his exemplary leadership in the <strong>Battle of Saraighat<\/strong> (1671), where the <strong>Ahoms defeated the Mughal forces<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>The battle was fought on the<strong> Brahmaputra River <\/strong>near Saraighat and was the<strong> last major attempt by the Mughals<\/strong> to extend their empire into Assam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The<strong> Lachit Borphukan gold medal<\/strong> is awarded to the best cadet from the <strong>National Defence Academy.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It was <strong>instituted in 1999<\/strong> to inspire defence personnel to emulate Borphukan\u2019s heroism and sacrifices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Death:<\/strong> 25th April 1672.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: 172px; width: 127.5pt;\">\n<h3>Gandhi Peace Prize<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #efefef; width: 340.5pt;\">\n<ul>\n<li>It is given by the<strong> Ministry of Culture<\/strong> for <strong>social, economic and political transformation through non-violence<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It was instituted in the year <strong>1995<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The award comprises <strong>Rs. 1 crore<\/strong>, a<strong> citation<\/strong>, a <strong>plaque <\/strong>and an <strong>item of traditional handicraft or handloom<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Given to<strong> individuals, associations, institutions or organizations<\/strong> who have worked selflessly for peace, non-violence and amelioration of human sufferings particular to the less-privileged section of society contributing towards social justice and harmony.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Open to all persons<\/strong> regardless of nationality, race, language, caste, creed or gender.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The \u2018<strong>Father of the Nation<\/strong>\u2019 <strong>of Bangladesh<\/strong> <strong>Sheikh Mujibur Rahman<\/strong> and the late Sultan of <strong>Oman<\/strong>, <strong>Qaboos bin Said Al Said<\/strong>, would be awarded the prize for <strong>2020 <\/strong>and <strong>2019 respectively<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>This is the<strong> first time<\/strong> that the prize is being <strong>awarded posthumously<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: 345px; width: 127.5pt;\">\n<h3>Standing External Advisory Committee (SEAC)<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #cfe2f3; width: 340.5pt;\">\n<ul>\n<li>It was set up by the <strong>Reserve Bank of India (RBI).<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The constitution of an SEAC was also mentioned in the <strong>RBI guidelines for \u2018on-tap licensing of small finance banks\u2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It will be a <strong>five-member committee<\/strong>, headed by <strong>former RBI Deputy Governor Shyamala Gopinath.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It comprises eminent persons with experience in <strong>banking, the financial sector and other relevant areas<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The tenure of this SEAC will be for <strong>three years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It will evaluate <strong>applications for universal banks and small finance<\/strong> banks.<\/li>\n<li>It will set up its own procedures to screen the applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #cfe2f3; width: 127.5pt;\">\n<h3>Spring Equinox<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"background-color: #efefef; width: 340.5pt;\">\n<ul>\n<li>This year Spring Equinox took place on March 20th in the Northern Hemisphere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Equinoxes <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The word equinox is derived from two<strong> Latin words \u2013 aequus (equal) and nox (night).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There are only two times of the year when the Earth\u2019s axis is <strong>tilted neither toward nor away from the sun,<\/strong> which results in a nearly <strong>equal amount of daylight<\/strong> and <strong>darkness at all latitudes.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0These events are referred to as Equinoxes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>There are two equinoxes namely Vernal and\u00a0 Autumnal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The equinoxes happen in March (about March 21) and September (about September 23) on these days\u00a0 the Sun is exactly above the Equator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reasons:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The phenomenon occurs <strong>due to the Earth\u2019s axial tilt<\/strong>, or the angle by which the<strong> planet is tilted relative to the Sun<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>The imaginary axis of our planet is not straight up and down but is tilted by <strong>23.5 degrees. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This is why different regions of the Earth experience different measures of sunlight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>An equinox occurs when the tilt of the Earth&#8217;s axis is neither inclined away from nor <strong>towards the Sun. <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This leads to an almost<strong> equal duration<\/strong> of the <strong>day and the night on Equinox day. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: 196px;
