margin-left:30px; margin-right:30px; width:444px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Features of the Wall<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The wall would use <strong>sensors<\/strong>, <strong>radars <\/strong>and <strong>surveillance technology<\/strong> to detect and track border break-ins and technology capable of performing the most difficult tasks dedicated to border security.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile surveillance towers<\/strong> are deployed along with a complete system radar satellites, <strong>computer-equipped border-control vehicles<\/strong>, <strong>control sensors<\/strong> and <strong>underground sensors<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Also,<strong> thermal imaging<\/strong> would be used, which would help in the <strong>detection of objects<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The system would be <strong>capable of distinguishing between animals, humans and vehicles<\/strong>, and sending related updates to handheld mobile devices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Artificial intelligence<\/strong> is used at a novel scale to complement the steel barrier (border wall).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cfstatic.nextias.com\/cdn-cgi\/image\/format=auto\/file_library\/mix_content\/854010695271443500_image.png\" style=\"height:190px; margin-left:20px; margin-right:20px; width:491px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the USA\u2019s context, <strong>cost-effectiveness<\/strong>, <strong>less damage to the environment<\/strong>, <strong>fewer land seizures<\/strong>, and <strong>speedier deployment <\/strong>give these walls an edge over traditional physical borders.<\/li>\n<li>Smart walls make use of systems that would be designed in such a way that they can <strong>operate even in rugged areas<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>Erecting physical fences, walls or any physical structures is extremely difficult in rugged terrain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>These walls could <strong>solve border security issues<\/strong> without the need for a physical barrier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Smart Walls for Indian Borders<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>India faces the problem of<strong> infiltration by the terrorists and the smugglers<\/strong> through the borders.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>terrain in the border region is rugged<\/strong> so using smart walls can be considered due to its <strong>easy deployment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is imperative for Indian <strong>armed forces to be well-equipped<\/strong> and simultaneously <strong>have the latest technological advantage<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It falls in line with the goal of <strong>Digital India<\/strong> and using such kind of <strong>smart technology will help India secure<\/strong> its borders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Concerns:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Indian <strong>border is not clearly defined at a few points<\/strong> so it will be hard to find an exact location for the deployment of the walls.<\/li>\n<li>Such a system <strong>might not be feasible for India\u2019s long boundaries<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suggestions:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It can be<strong> deployed to enhance<\/strong> critical security establishments and complement the<strong> already-existing physical fencing and walls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Experts must explore this idea<\/strong> to effectively counter the problem of cross-border infiltration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"width:742px\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"vertical-align:top;
