Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (PMEAC)<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Non-constitutional, non-permanent and independent body\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Functions:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

    • Gives economic advice to the Prime Minister on <\/span><\/span><\/span>economic issues like inflation, microfinance, and industrial output<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • The council serves <\/span><\/span><\/span>to highlight key economic issues<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> faced by the country to the government of India <\/span><\/span><\/span>from a neutral viewpoint<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Publishes 2 major reports<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

      • Economic Outlook: <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>It is an annual publication.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

      • It has been constituted and abolished many times in the past.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • The present government revived it in 2017.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
