  • Recently, the sea phase of the three days long maiden <\/span><\/span><\/span>bilateral exercise \u2018Al-Mohed Al \u2013 Hindi\u2019 <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>between<\/span><\/span><\/span> the Indian Navy and Royal Saudi Nava<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>l <\/span><\/span><\/span>Force <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>commenced off the coast of Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • The two navies undertake <\/span><\/span><\/span>co-ordinated action <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>against:<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

    • Asymmetric threat<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Replenishment at sea procedures<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Anti-piracy and boarding operations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

  • The Government announced Indore as the <\/span><\/span><\/span>First Water Plus<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> city under the<\/span><\/span><\/span> Swachh Survekshan 2021.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What is Swachh Survekshan?<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    • It is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns in India.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
        \n
      • It is the <\/span><\/span><\/span>world\u2019s largest urban <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>sanitation and cleanliness survey.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • It was launched as a part of<\/span><\/span><\/span> the Swachh Bharat Mission.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • It has been conducted by the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs s<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>ince 2016.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • It has been instrumental in<\/span><\/span><\/span> fostering a spirit of healthy competition <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>among towns and cities to improve their service delivery to citizens and towards creating cleaner cities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          What is a Water Plus city?<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

          • As per the protocols of the<\/span><\/span><\/span> Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs,<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> a city can be declared as <\/span><\/span><\/span>Water Plus provided<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, all wastewater released from households, commercial establishments etc. is treated to a satisfactory level before releasing the treated wastewater to the environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • Eligibility\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
              \n
            • It must be <\/span><\/span><\/span>ensured that the dirty water from the city does not go into any river or drain.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
            • All public toilets in the city must be <\/span><\/span><\/span>connected to sewer<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> lines and must be cleaned.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
            • Finally, 30 per cent of the city\u2019s sewer water has to be recycled and reused.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • A Water Plus city certificate is<\/span><\/span><\/span> allocated to a city<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> for <\/span><\/span><\/span>maintaining cleanliness<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> in rivers and drains under its administration.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    • Born in <\/span><\/span><\/span>1889 <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>in a small village in the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Midnapore <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>district.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • He showed an inclination towards revolutionary activities after getting inspired by the <\/span><\/span><\/span>public lectures of Sri Aurobindo and Sister Nivedita (Swami Vivekananda\u2019s disciple) <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>in Midnapore in the early 1900s.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • He joined a group named ‘<\/span><\/span><\/span>Anushilan Samiti’.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
        \n
      • An early 20th-century organisation that propounded revolutionary activities in Bengal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • He <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>became a volunteer at the age of 15 and was arrested for distributing pamphlets against British rule in India.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • He had learnt how to make bombs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

        • He is known for the attempt to assassinate the d<\/span><\/span><\/span>istrict magistrate of Muzaffarpur, Douglas Kingsford<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n

          • At the age of 18, Bose, and his friend Prafulla Chaki devised a plan to assassinate the judge.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • They threw a <\/span><\/span><\/span>bomb at a carriage<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> which they suspected was carrying him, however, they erroneously killed two women instead. The district magistrate escaped.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • The Britishers set out to nab <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bose and Chaki<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> after the attempt.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • However, Chaki shot himself before they could get to him.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
          • Khudiram Bose was executed on August 11, 1908.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • The PSG fan token is a form of cryptocurrency that allows people to be involved in decisions surrounding the club like ownership of a voting right.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • The <\/span><\/span><\/span>fan tokens are volatile assets<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span> and their value can drastically change overnight similar to Bitcoin and other digital currencies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
