style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">The bitter legacies of the Partition, anti-colonial resentment and Britain\u2019s prejudices and its perceived tilt to Pakistan have long complicated the engagement between India and the UK.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>Political Negativity:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><span India\u2019s problems have been accentuated by the British Labour Party\u2019s growing political negativity towards India.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li face challenges from other countries at the World Trade Organisation(WTO) because the latter only permits for the preferential treatment between countries which have bilateral agreements between style=\"color:#000000\">The large South Asian diaspora in the UK transmits the internal and intra-regional conflicts in the subcontinent into Britain\u2019s domestic politics.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>Engagement with EU:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span Ahead<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">The negotiations were productive and reflected the shared ambition to secure a comprehensive deal to boost trade between the 5th and 6th largest economies in the world.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">Both teams maintain a shared ambition to conclude negotiations by the end of 2022 as part of both sides\u2019 efforts to secure a comprehensive agreement.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:'Book Antiqua',serif\"><span style=\"color:#000000\">India and the U.K. should also consider concluding an
